Artesina ski resort - Mondole Ski area
The ski resort can be accessed both from the village of Artesina and from the Rastello chairlift in Roccaforte Mondovì and Prato Nevoso. Its 60 km of slopes, which wind under the top of Mount Mondolè (2,400 metres), easily satisfy the desire for fun of the most demanding skiers, thanks to the significant differences in height, but also cater for the less experienced. The Turra plateau is a fantastic balcony over the Alps from which you can admire breath-taking views with slopes for all levels that wind up to 2100 meters above sea level.
The slopes of Artesina have hosted numerous training sessions of the national alpine ski team, and especially those of the women's Elite Team, including Cuneo-born champion Marta Bassino.
If you love fresh snow (Artesina have 5 offpiste areas), this area offers many possibilities for you to draw curves in its glistening icy powder. The choice is vast, ranging from areas at the edge of the slopes, to touring itineraries reserved for more experienced ski mountaineers, preferably accompanied by the alpine guides.
For the little ones, the Bosco delle Fate is open, where they can ski among the silhouettes of the animals of the forest, as is Pinky Park, the playground on the snow equipped with treadmills, bobsleigh area, sledges and entertainment. Children are greeted by a fun mascot named Pinky, a pink rabbit with big ears who emerges from the snow. One of the events that best characterises the station is the Raduno delle Mascotte or Gathering of Mascots. Every year it brings the most famous, beautiful puppets that have become the symbols of Italian entertainment venues to play in the snow with children.
