Cavalese ski resort in Trentino, northern Italy, a ski resort and the main center in the Fiemme Valley. Alpe Cermis is part of the Val di Fiemme ski area.

Cavalese is the main village of the Val di Fiemme, that it is surrounded by the 5 ski areas of Latemar, Passo Rolle, Passo Oclini, Bellamonte. Val di Fiemme/Obereggen has 110 kilometers of ski runs.
In Cavalese, the ski gondola carrying skiers up to Alpe Cermis is located in the center of the town. A gondola lift carries skiers to the central station, from where they can proceed eastwards and westwards. This ski resort has three cable cars, 3 chairlifts and 25 km of ski slopes.
Much of the terrain is on a sunny (but north facing) plateau above the treeline and suited to beginners and intermediate skiers.The ski runs to the east are more accessible in general, while to the west they are slightly more challenging. This skiing area meets skiers' and snowboarders' requirements and offers above all easy and medium slopes, but also very challenging runs like Olympia slope, one of the most beautiful pistes in Trentino, is 7.500 m long and has an elevation profile of 1,400 m. The highest peak in the skiing area is the Cima Pajon (2.250 m).
The ski area Alpe Cermis invites you to go night skiing on a 2.5 km piste. Every Wednesday and Friday, the Olimpia III slope on Alpe Cermis is floodlit for night skiing from 7.30pm to 10.30pm. In case of parties and events vocalists and DJs will perform.
From Christmas to April there is also a free ski shuttle which connects the surrounding skiing resorts with the Alpe Cermis.

In Cavalese, the après-ski scene tends to be more relaxed and laid-back compared to larger ski resorts. The Cermisfera Fashion Lounge Bar isn't just the ideal place to enjoy the rest of the sun and start the aprés ski fun after a long day of skiing. It's also a great destination for night skiing lovers, as its located directly at the end of the Olimpia 3 slope, which can be illuminated at night.

In the heart of the beautiful Val di Fiemme, Cavalese is spread over a sunny terrace right opposite the Lagorai range. The town has 4,000 inhabitants. The town itself has a picturesque old village centre with cobbled streets. The bell tower of the church of San Sebastiano stands over the village and in the historic center you can find local handcraft and sportswear shops , pubs, wine bars, quality restaurants, restored antique palaces, art centers and the splendid Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme, guided tours take you through the Palace, the museum-gallery and the prisons of the nineteenth century.
The town is also sadly renowned for the so-called "Cermis massacre" of 1998, when an US aircraft teared down the cable-car connecting the town to the near Cermis mountain during a training exercise, killing 20 people.
There are several cozy cafes and bars in Cavalese where you can enjoy a drink and some snacks in a relaxed atmosphere. Bianco well-liked bar in Cavalese offering a selection of drinks and a comfortable setting to socialize. Caffè Majestic: Located in the center of Cavalese, this café-bar is a great place to grab a drink and soak in the local atmosphere. Popular pubs include the Canton and the Sohozero. The Mardok on Via Dossi has a popular bar and is the resort's only disco.
The ski lift ticket gives free access to the swimming pool and there's also an ice rink and other facilities open in the evening. There are also seven cinemas to choose from at the Municipal Cinemas -Theatre on Via Roma (only in Italian).
