The new Braia Fraida 6-seater chairlift will open for the 2024/2025 winter season in Alta Badia, Italy. The upgraded lift will connect Corvara/Col Alt with La Brancia and San Cassiano/La Villa in under four minutes, ensuring a quicker and more comfortable ride for skiers. The brand-new Braia Fraida lift, which will be inaugurated on December 5, 2024.
Braia Fraida 6-seater chairlift
The old lift will be replaced by a six-seater chairlift, which, thanks to a capacity of 2,800 people per hour and 70 vehicles in line, will ensure the connection between the Corvara/Col Alt area and La Brancia - San Cassiano/La Villa in less than 4 minutes. In the opposite direction (La Brancia -> Corvara/Arlara), with a mandatory stop at the intermediate station, the ride will take about 1 minute. The lift, designed and manufactured by the Leitner Group, guarantees the highest safety standards thanks to the best technologies on the market.
Total transformation, technology and innovation for the enviroment
One of the main features of this project is innovation, thanks to a direct-drive motor and a reduction in consumption of about 7% compared to the old lift. This significant step forward greatly improves the performance of the entire system, ensuring greater efficiency even during peak seasons and high traffic periods. But modernization doesn't stop there. The installation of a next-generation fiber optic network has enabled faster and more stable inline communication. Now, data transmission is smoother, ensuring the constant efficiency of digital systems.
The premium chairs
To ensure maximum travel comfort for passengers, the connecting bracket typically used on vehicles is equipped with two vibration absorption systems. Each chair is also equipped with a liquid device designed to dampen oscillations generated under certain wind conditions. The device consists of an arched tube fixed to the vehicle suspension, containing antifreeze liquid. The inertia of the liquid allows for effective damping action as oscillations begin. The Premium Chair features automotive industry know-how and high-quality materials and cutting-edge technologies. Specifically, the seat upholstery is leather, with anatomical seats and individual headrests. The chairs are equipped with a ski rest bar for each seat, placed between the passenger's legs, increasing safety during transport.
