The Quattralpina lift, popular with many winter sports enthusiasts at Hauser Kaibling, is being retired. After 32 years and a total of approximately 27.4 million transported guests, it's coming to an end. Starting next winter, the new 8-seater chairlift Kaiblinggrat will begin operation.
From the 2024/25 winter season, guests at Hauser Kaibling will have the most powerful chairlift in Styria at their disposal. The new 8-seater ‘Kaiblinggrat’ chairlift, which replaces the previous 4-seater ‘Quattralpina’ chairlift from 1992, has a transport capacity of 3,600 passengers per hour and takes you comfortably up to the transmitter plateau at 1,870 metres in just 4.5 minutes.
The new chairlift from Leitner will be equipped with 68 state-of-the-art Leitner EvoPremium 8-seater chairs, complete with hood, seat heating and individual footrests. The journey between the stations will take just under 4.5 minutes. The world's only direct drive from Leitner ropeways called "DirectDrive" ensures environmentally friendly and low-noise operation. Another exciting new feature is the comfortable entry via conveyor belt with lifting table. This allows children under 1.25 meters to automatically grow by 15 centimeters, allowing them to sit comfortably and safely.
16 million euros to be invested
"This new construction will ensure that summer and winter guests can start their skiing and hiking adventures in comfort for decades to come," said Managing Directors Klaus Hofstätter and Maximilian Sampl in unison. Hauser Mayor Stefan Knapp is also proud "that the most powerful chairlift in Styria will run over the Hauser Kaibling in the future".
With its mountain station on the transmitter plateau, the Kaiblinggrat cable car is the most important feeder cable car. From there, the summit cable car takes you to the Hauser Kaibling summit (highest point of the 4-mountain ski area/2015 metres), the natural jewel of the Kaiblingalm and the ski area connection to Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm.
