Serre Chevalier has announced that a brand new, 6-person high-speed chairlift is under construction which is planned to replace the old and slow Cote Chevalier lift in the Villeneuve sector.
The Côte Chevalier new high-speed detachable six-seater chairlift will provide better and faster access thanks to a much-improved link between Monêtier and all sectors of the ski area.
The arrival area at the top of the chairlift remains the same (at the top of the Rocher de l'Enfer and Echaillon runs). The starting point of the lift will be at the intersection of the Bez and Lacets runs. The former Côte Chevalier chairlift, the Fréjus chairlift and the Pré du Bois drag lift will be dismantled. The number of pylons will be reduced (39 dismantled, 22 relocated).
The new €10 million lift will be opened for the start of the 18-19 season on 7th to 9th December 2018 for weekend skiing only until the resort fully opens daily non-stop from 15th December 2018 to 22nd April 2019.
