New Jandri 3S gondola to open in Les 2 Alpes in December

Les Deux Alpes, one of France's premier ski resorts, is celebrating the arrival of its state-of-the-art Jandri Express gondola lift for the 2024/25 ski season. A total of 53 cabins manufactured at POMA-Sigma's Veyrins-Thuellins facility will be installed on the cables of a lift intended to replace the Jandri Express built in 1985.

Faster and More Efficient
The new Jandri Express is a substantial upgrade, replacing the older lift that serviced the same area. It can now transport up to 4,000 skiers per hour, dramatically reducing wait times during peak periods. Time spent on the lift will be cut from 40 minutes down to just 17, thanks to this brand new introduction - an ultra modern, 3S style lift. This facility transports skiers and pedestrians to the high-altitude area to reach the funicular and access 3400m and the "Destination 3400" experience.

Comfort and Technology
Each gondola cabin is designed with skier comfort in mind, featuring spacious interiors, heated seats, and panoramic windows for breathtaking views of the surrounding Alps. Modern technology ensures a smoother and quieter ride, even in adverse weather conditions.

Sustainability Focus
The Jandri Express aligns with Les Deux Alpes' commitment to sustainability. The lift is powered by renewable energy sources, reducing its carbon footprint while providing a faster and more efficient transport solution.

Enhanced Skiing Experience
The gondola's top station offers seamless access to the resort's glacier, one of the largest in Europe. Skiers and snowboarders can now enjoy quicker transitions to the high-altitude slopes, allowing for more time on the snow. The upgrade is expected to attract more visitors and boost the resort’s reputation as a world-class ski destination.

This new lift is part of broader investment efforts to modernize Les Deux Alpes and maintain its competitive edge in the Alps. With the Jandri Express, skiers of all levels can look forward to an enhanced mountain experience.

To mark the inauguration of the new Jandri 3S gondola lift, SATA Group is organising a day of festivities.

Programme:
9.30am-10.30am: Distribution of hot drinks at the G1 departure station of the new JANDRI
12pm-1pm: Inauguration of the new JANDRI, in front of the G1 departure station: speech and inaugural gesture
6pm: Torchlight descent and drone show, meeting point at the bottom of Les Lutins
