The new cable car not only offers increased space but also enhances comfort. Its modern design provides an unparalleled panoramic view of the entire valley.
The revision of Kronplatz I+II is scheduled in 2025. This costly restructuring operation has prompted the decision to advance further in terms of quality, by replacing the entire establishment with a new structure that is more operationally efficient and welcoming for Kronplatz guests. The project, with a total cost of 35 million euros, is self-funded without any public contributions from the Province of Bozen.
New red slope Lumen
An essential aspect of the project is the creation of a new ‘red’ ski slope linking Sylvester, the new intermediate station, and Herrnegg. This development aims to alleviate congestion on the Sylvester slope, offering less experienced skiers the opportunity to ski down to the valley.
Ascent for ski tourers
The AVS trail, established in the 1970s from Reischach to the summit and used as a sledding track until the 1980s, will now be designated as the official route for ski touring enthusiasts.
Kronplatz I+II project includes:
• A new cable car divided into two sections
• Repositioning of the intermediate station with direct access to the slopes
• Optimization of the energy efficiency of the new cable car through a direct drive system.
• Reduction of the number of supports for the 1986 cable car by over 50%
• Enhanced comfort with the installation of a modern, spacious and fast lift system featuring 10-seat cable car
