The new scenic gondola traversing across the fell from Ruka Village to Ruka Valley will take skiers, pedestrians, baby strollers and bikers across the top of Saarua in six minutes, all year round. Gondola makes it easy for the guests to enjoy restaurants and other services easily on both sides of the fell. Thanks to the top station located in top of Saarua, the gondola also serves skiers, especially families and beginners.
15 million euro investments to Ruka ski slopes
In addition to the scenic gondola, Ruka ski resort is building a new VillageExpress chairlift to the front slopes in Ruka Village. It will be a fast, 6-seater chairlift with a see-through cover, similar to already existing VuosseliExpress chairlift in Ruka East.
4-seater chairlift SaaruaExpress and the renewed Family Park close to RukaValley’s area opened for the winter season 2017–2018. These improvements are part of the 15 million investments to ski slopes and ski lifts that will increase the ski lift capacity over 20 %. Ruka ski resort’s strategic objective is to be the best ski resort in the world for families.
