Improvements during summer 2017 included a super fast detachable SaaruaExpress four seater chair lift, doubling the capacity of the old Saarua chair lift to 2500 skiers per hour and cutting the traveling time to half - skiers can now reach the top in 2 minutes.
Ski season 2017-2018 was opened on stored snow on October 6th.
Ruka Ski Resort is investing on new snow making equipment to insure the longest ski season in Europe with a more efficient and faster snow making. For the beginning of the ski season 2017-2018 there have been two slopes on stored snow; Saarua 12 and 13.

The new Plateau chairlift will enrich the Kronplatz ski area
Kronplatz, one of the premier ski destinations in the Dolomites, has introduced a state-of-the-art 8-seater chairlift named Plateau for the 2024/25 winter season. Located in the Olang sector, this new chairlift replaces the previous 4-seater, offering a significant upgrade in comfort and efficiency.

New Jandri 3S gondola to open in Les 2 Alpes in December
Les Deux Alpes, one of France's premier ski resorts, is celebrating the arrival of its state-of-the-art Jandri Express gondola lift for the 2024/25 ski season. A total of 53 cabins manufactured at POMA-Sigma's Veyrins-Thuellins facility will be installed on the cables of a lift intended to replace the Jandri Express built in 1985.
