The Seiser Alm in South Tyrol recently gained a brand-new D-Line from Doppelmayr/Garaventa. The 6-seater Bamby chairlift replaces an outmoded quad installation of the same name.
The new ropeway means that this section of the ski resort is now also state of the art. It provides an important connection in the heart of the ski region and is used particularly in the evening by skiers returning from Saltria to Seis/Kastelruth and St. Ulrich. The new Bamby is a detachable chairlift that makes loading and unloading very comfortable for passengers thanks to its slow transit speed in the sta-tions. While the seat heating and the spacious bubbles provide a high level of ride comfort for passengers, the low-noise and high-performance Doppelmayr Direct Drive ensures reliable operation.
Child safety as top priority
The operating company Rabanser Seilbahnen has always attached particular importance to child safety. Back in 1998, Doppelmayr worked closely with the customer to build a chairlift with lockable restraining bars on the Seiser Alm, which made a significant contribution to the safe carriage of children. In the case of the Paradiso lift completed eight years later, the company once again invested in the latest development for chairlifts. With the autolock system used on the Bamby chairlift, up to five children can be carried on each chair accom-panied by just one adult. The restraining bar on the D-Line chair is automatically closed and locked in the bottom station. The status of this system is checked again by sensors as the chair leaves the station and the bar remains closed until the chair enters the top station.
The new developments that the D-Line hasto offer provided the winning arguments in Doppelmayr/Garaventa’s favor. The quiet running of the installation, which is achieved by a host of redesigned components, the dead center grip and also the configuration of the belt tensioning system for the tire conveyors all impressed Rabanser Seilbahnen.
Matthias Rabanser, Rabanser Seilbahnen GmbH.
We attach great importance to our new liftsbeing state of the art and meeting our re-quirements in terms of the safe transportationof our guests and children in particular. That’s why we decided on a D-Line chairlift with the auto-lock system.
