Serbian state-run ski infrastructure operator Skijalista Srbije has said it plans to invest 614.2 million dinars ($6.4 million/5.2 million euro) in the construction of a multistorey car park and a helipad in Kopaonik resort, in southern Serbia.
The car park and the helipad will be built on a plot of land owned by Serbia's defence ministry, Skijalista Srbije said in a statement on Saturday.
Under the project, Skijalista Srbije will build a multistorey parking for at least 300 vehicles and a helipad with equipment for landing of Mi-17 helicopters.
The new facilities will improve the provision of emergency medical aid to visitors injured in skiing accidents and their transportation to adequate health facilities in Serbia, the managing director of Skijalista Srbije, Dejan Cika, said in the statement.
Financing for the project will come from Serbia's trade and tourism ministry and own resources of Skijalista Srbije, the defence ministry said in a separate statement on Saturday.
