The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is additionally investing 42.2 million euro by constructing two new lift facilities as well as slope and artificial snow optimisations for even more winter sports fun.

Safe, fast and above all comfortable is how winter sports enthusiasts will be entering the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn starting with the winter season of 2016/2017. Last year, with the link to the Tyrolean ski area Fieberbrunn, the Skicircus catapulted itself into the top ranks of the biggest and most modern ski areas with astonishing 270 kilometres of slopes. The coming winter season will see further heavy investments by Bergbahnen Saalbach Hinterglemm with the construction of two new lift facilities.
Reconstruction of the Schönleitenbahn – last bottleneck sorted out.
Reconstruction of the Schönleitenbahn – last bottleneck sorted out.
With a new hourly transportation capacity of 3200 passengers, November will introduce skiing fun instead of waiting and sitting instead of standing! Starting in November, the new Schönleitenbahn will transport 1150 more passengers per hour in highly modern, comfort-optimised 10-passenger cabins at an altitude difference of 968 metres and over a distance of 2.7km.
The Schönleitenbahn in Jausern/Vorderglemm is the first point of contact with the ski area for many visitors and an important link within the overall Skicircus area. To avoid long waiting times at the bottleneck, the 30-year-old Schönleitenbahn was removed and replaced by a gondola lift with a stronger carrying capacity. After construction began in May, the structural work on the highly modern 10-passenger gondola lift has been mostly completed and the columns on the first section of the concrete foundation have been erected. The start of assemby by the company Doppelmayr at the valley, middle and mountain stations has also been carried out and the simultaneous excavation work for the cabling, done as carefully as possible, are already being ecologically restored.
The new 12-seater Express – amazing comfort over a short distance!
The tedious carrying of the skis after a descent from the Westgipfel in order to switch to the Zwölferkogelbahn or return is finally coming to an end thanks to the completion of the “12-seater Express”! “The shorter the journey the more comfortable it is”, is the motto of the new 10-passenger gondola lift, which will be transporting 2400 visitors per hour from the Oberschwarzach practice lift near the Hinterglemm town centre across a distance of 250 metres and at a height of 27 metres to the Dr. Karl-Renner House, allowing them to descend to the Zwölferkogelbahn valley station easily. The link also creates new comfort and security for the return journey, because the new gondola lift makes the previous walk by foot between the two ski mountains across two streets unnecessary. For visitors who are starting their ski day from the centre of Hinterglemm, the Zwölferkogel can now be conquered even more easily and is only a few steps away. As part of the continuing construction works, the platter lift Oberschwarzach, in the beginner’s area at the foot of the Westgipfel, will also receive an upgrade and will be expanded into a double platter lift.
