Zillertal Arena mountain lift company: the following months many eagerly awaited projects will be realised which will not only represent milestones in the development of products and services in the Zillertal Arena, but which are also set to create positive momentum for the entire region.
The new 10-passenger D-Line gondola lift increases capacity and availability
The viewing platform at the top station of the new Stuanmandl lift in Gerlos invites winter sports en-thusiasts to linger. Because the exposed loca-tion above the storage pond offers a magnifi cent view of the snowy Zillertal mountains. Compared with the old quad chairlift, the new 10-passenger gondola lift can carry 2,800 passengers an hour to the top of the mountain rather than theprevious 1,800. For the important connection between Zell am Ziller and Gerlos, this bringsa significant cut in waiting times and a major upgrade. The comfortable individual heated seats in the Omega V cabins also make the ride highly enjoyable on cold days, which wasn’t always the case on the chairlift because of the long trip time.

Sustainability and wind stability
High wind speeds are nothing unusual in this sector of the ski resort. A series of additional design measures have made the D-Line gondola lift very wind-resistant, which in turn has a positive impact on availability. The ergonomic design of the Omega V with cabin suspension integrated into the roof also comes into play here. Another feature of the installation is the fact that the top station has large entrance and exit doors that can be closed to protect against the wind when the lift is not in operation.
The new gondola lift also scores in terms of sustainability and energy efficiency. The photovoltaic elements integrated into the facade of the top station produce electricity, which is fed into the network. The Doppelmayr Direct Drive is a very energy-saving solution. It is also low on vibration and noise as well as requiring little maintenance. As the drive does not have a gear unit, no gearbox oil is required and the associated maintenance is dispensed with.
