Alpe du Grand Serre ski resort
The ski resort of Alpe du Grand Serre, originally called La Morte, is situated at an altitude of 1,360 meters and serves as the touristic heart of the Alpe du Grand Serre ski area. Located at the foot of the Grand Serre, La Morte is the resort's central hub, offering accommodations, restaurants and ski schools.
The Alpe du Grand Serre ski resort is made up of several sectors: La Blache, Les Bergeries and Le Désert. Far away from crowded places, you will discover 55 kilometres of wonderful and varied ski slopes.
The lower part of Alpe du Grand Serre, between 1,367 and 1,748 meters, is mostly covered with trees, featuring trails that "zip-zap" along the natural contours of the slope. In this area, there are also two excellent zones for beginners.
The smallest area in the resort, though still interesting, extends down to the village of Le Désert, where the Nordic slope is located.
In the Le Désert area, the red slopes Vallons and Blanche are standout runs that offer intermediate to advanced skiers an enjoyable challenge
Les Bergeries, situated between 1,748 and 2,184 meters, is accessible by all types of lifts except the chairlift, allowing for easy access to the resort base. Les Bergeries offers long, enjoyable trails, and its unique feature is the expansive, untouched snow around it, ideal for off-piste enthusiasts. Freeriding area is organized around the Pérollier mountain peak, which allows skiers to choose the most suitable descent depending on the time of day, sunshine and snow quality.
