Evolène in the Val d’Hérens valley is a typical village which kept its soul, ten thousand miles away from the urbanized tourist centers.
Evolène ski area
The main lifts are at Lannaz, a small community above Evolène, at least 20 minutes walk away from the village. However a courtesy bus runs between Evoène and Lannaz and free parking is available.
In Evolène, a chairlift and three ski lifts take you to 2680 m., in the heart of a breathtaking landscape, facing the Dent Blanche and Matterhorn A beautiful and little frequented freeride area is accessible by lifts.
The Télé-Evolène domain has 3 installations which allow you to reach the departure of 4 red runs, 3 black runs as well as two downhill runs, a blue one which follows a forest road and an undamaged black one, ideal for powder lovers.
When the conditions allow it, a 4th installation allows you to go to an even wilder area: Les Arpilles. 2 very beautiful additional slopes are then available to you.

Evolène village
Characteristic village in the Val d'Hérens, still very well preserved. Interesting wooden or terracotta houses with stone framed doors and windows and frescoed facades. Typical Cotter mountain pasture. The most populated village with almost 800 inhabitants, it is home to the municipal administration and numerous shops and restaurants, particularly along its central street, a particularly lively artery surrounded by traditional buildings typical of local architecture.
