The Prato Nevoso ski resort - the most modern resort in Piedmont, is in the heart of the region of Coni (northern Italy). It is one of the most famous ski resorts in Piedmont region and has an interesting history.
In the 1960s some local businessmen wanted to set up a ski resort not too far from Genoa and Turin, and so the Mondole ski area was founded and built. Created in 1965, Prato Nevoso ski resort has grown steadily. Although purpose built the attractive, typically triangular and wood clad chalet style buildings are certainly well designed for the era.

Ski area offers 30 km of slopes, including 15 km of blue runs, 13 km of red runs and 2 km of black runs. If you're looking for a bit more space, the Mondolè Ski ski area will give you plenty to smile about with its 130 km of slopes. There is something for all levels: slopes for children and also runs for the very advanced skier. Prato Nevoso ski area is connected with Artesina by two red slopes and with Frabosa by a chairlift F4.
On the Artesina side, the skiing is quite challenging whereas Prato Nevoso is easier for beginners and early intermediates. There is plenty of skiing both above and below the tree line.
Prato Nevoso is an excellent choice for beginners. In Prato Nevoso there is minimal walking with easy runs just a few metres from the hotel with longer blues higher up to enable rapid progression. For intermediates there are plenty of long wide runs that invite ambitious skiers to work hard. There are plenty of wide, long runs which invite ambitious skiers to work hard. For strong intermediates there are some tremendous reds, especially over the Artesina side where there's an FIS rated black and some exhilarating cruises in high bowls.
Children can take advantage of a dedicated area with specially reserved bunny hills for their very first experiences on the slopes. Every afternoon, the resort's activity leaders and Asso, its mascot, prepare a range of activities to entertain young and old alike.
