San Cassiano is a ski resort located at the feet of the Dolomite peaks in the Alta Badia region, at an altitude of 1,537 meters. Nestled between the peaks of the Fanes Group and the Pralongià High Plateau, this charming resort is ideally positioned between La Villa and Lagazuoi.

The Alta Badia ski pass allows you to ride along 130 km of slopes between the areas of Corvara, Colfosco, San Cassiano, La Villa and Badia on skis and snowboards and to reach the passes of Campolongo, Falzrego and Gardena (Gröndner Joch), interconnected with other resorts within the Dolomiti Superski area. The surrounding mountains of the picturesque resort are particularly interesting from a historical perspective, as one can see relics from the 1st World War around Mount Lagazuoi. With great access to the Alta Badia skiing region via the Piz Sorega gondola, you really are gifted with an abundance of piste right on your doorstep.
The Piz Sorega gondola is the only lift up onto the Alta Badia’s slopes, and it’s set at the southern end of the village.
San Cassiano is a particular favourite for mixed-ability groups, due to its immediate access to gentle runs and good sun exposure. The runs are particularly well looked after, including snow cannons on the above pistes to ensure conditions are at their utmost.
After a day on the slopes, enjoy a good après in one of San Cassiano’s popular bars. Rifugio Las Vegas Lodge is at the top of the Piz Sorega lift, and is perfect for socialising over a relaxing drink after a day on the slopes. Meanwhile, back in San Cassiano, Hug's Bar and De la Vedla are popular meeting places after a day’s skiing.

Located at just above 1500m, the resort allows for an easy return to your accommodation thanks to runs leading right down to the town. Should you want a little more of a challenge than the immediate runs, access to the Sella Ronda area – over 1100km of piste – is included in your ski pass. During the winter months, resort highlights include the natural toboggan run Foram, which at 4.9 miles long, is sure to give an added thrill to your ski holiday.
For those who consider fine dining to be an essential part of a holiday, there are several Michelin starred restaurants in the area. Enjoy dinner in town at St Hubertus, a two Michelin-star restaurant. The wine list is impressive too, with exceptionally fine, locally produced pinot noirs and sauvignon blancs. The Rosa Alpina has a lively and informal wine bar in the lounge and grill specialising in grilled meats and pasta.
