The Ski Arena Andermatt-Sedrun will limit the number of guests in the ski area (first entry) to 8,000 people. This ensures that the Covid measures are implemented. To this end, the reservation system that has already been successfully introduced at Gemsstock is being expanded. From December 12th, the gondola ride on the GütschExpress must also be reserved online.

The SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun has limited the number of guests on the Gemsstock to a maximum of 1,000 since October 31. Now the number of skiers in the entire ski area is voluntarily limited to 8,000 people (or first entries). This is intended to reduce the gatherings of people and waiting times and implement the Covid protective measures. CEO Rainer Flaig said: "With this step we are ensuring more security and well-being." On the first operating weekend from 12/13 December the number of guests is limited to 4,500, as the Andermatt (to Gütsch) and Sedrun pages are only open. The reservation is still mandatory on the Gemsstock.
The Gütsch-Express gondola lift must also be reserved from December 12th for all journeys up to 11 a.m. Bookings are possible for departures every six minutes. Around 150 people can be transported every six minutes, up to a total of 1,500 people per hour. Guests of the two hotels The Chedi Andermatt and Radisson Blu Reussen as well as the Andermatt Alpine Apartments can be guaranteed access to the ski area.
According to the requirements of the Federal Council, the gondolas may only be filled with 2/3 of the maximum capacity, on the Gütsch-Express with a maximum of five people.
The guests are greeted at the entrances to the terminal at Andermatt train station and admitted with reservations. Guests are asked to be at least five minutes before the slot. There is the option of being queued in a virtual queue on site using a QR code.
In addition, the Gütsch slope up to the Nätschen middle station is closed in the morning to optimize it. This means that it is not possible to go up at the middle station. Valley runs are not recommended.
The ACE snow park will not be in operation this season.
The mountain restaurants of the Ski Arena Andermatt-Sedrun have 50 percent more outside seating. The Federal Council's new measures regarding restaurants are being implemented. A traffic light system allows the guest to see how full the restaurant is.
