Zermatt in Switzerland just became the first European partner on the Ikon Pass with the Tuesday announcement pass holders will now have access to 41 destinations on five continents, including the Matterhorn.

According to a news release, Ikon Pass holders will get seven-day access to Zermatt and the Matterhorn ski paradise with no blackout dates. Those with the Ikon Base Pass will get five-day access, also with no blackout dates.
The Matterhorn features more than 3,500 acres of terrain in Switzerland and Italy in the highest skiable terrain in the Alps.
It’s connected lift service will also offer Ikon Pass holders access to Rothorn, Gornergrat and the Schwarzsee-Matterhorn glacier paradise within the Zermatt ski area, plus Cervinia-Valtournenche ski areas in Italy, collectively known as the Matterhorn ski paradise.
“The Matterhorn is a true icon known around the world, so we are thrilled to have Zermatt join the Ikon Pass community,” said Erik Forsell, chief marketing officer for Alterra Mountain Company. “Ikon Pass strives to continually offer pass holders unique experiences in the mountains. Now they can experience Zermatt’s glacier skiing, traditional Swiss fondue, plus its infamous European après ski across two countries, on one pass.”
The European addition follows the announcement of a new partnership between the Ikon Pass and Arapahoe Basin Ski Area in Summit County for the 2019-20 ski season.
What destinations are included?
41 destinations around the world are available on the Ikon Pass and the Ikon Base Pass.
