The gondola, starting at Voss Station and ending at Hangurstoppen (810 metres above sea level), will have 9 cabins with a capacity of 1069 passangers per hour. We are currently building a new gondola, estimated to be finished during summer 2019.

The board of Voss Resort AS and Voss Gondol AS have, 11th January 2018, decided to initiate the construction of a new gondola at Voss.
The gondola will replace the old “Hangursbanen” cable car, which has been out of service since 2015.
The lower station of the new gondola will be at the new hub at Voss Railway Station (Voss Station). The end station will be at Hangurstoppen (820 meters above sea level), right next to the top of the Express lift. At the top, a new restaurant with capacity for 450 persons, will be built.
The construction work for the lower station will begin in January 2018 and completion and opening of the new gondola is estimated for the summer of 2019.
The total cost for the project is approximately NOK 300 million.
The gondola is delivered by Leitner Ropeways in Italy, with all technical installations from the lower to the upper station.
Backe Bergen AS is the contractor of other deliveries in the project.
“It is with great pleasure to announce that the new gondola in Voss now becomes a reality. This has been an ongoing process for 10 years, since the idea was presented in 2008”, says CEO of Voss Resort AS, Øyvind Wæhle.
“The gondola will be very important for further development of Voss Resort, moreover for the rest of the tourism and business industry in Voss and the region in general” says Wæhle.
"There is a lot of local involvement around the project, including the cooperation with Voss Community Council, Næringshagen Voss AS, and not least the two local banks, Vekselbanken and Voss Sparebank in addition to the regional bank Sparebanken Vest and local Investor Øyvind Lauritzen in Grønahorgi AS” concludes Wæhle.
The gondola is a so called 3S; the most user friendly, modern and secure gondola on todays market.
On Hangurstoppen, the end station for the gondola, a new restaurant and areas for recreation, excersise and play is built for both summer and winter.

New Jandri 3S gondola to open in Les 2 Alpes in December
