Since the 2019/2020 winter season, an ultramodern D-Line chairlift with seat heating and bubbles has awaited visitors to the Engelberg-Titlis ski region. A fast and comfortable ride is now guaranteed.

In December 2019, the Engelberg-Titlis skiregion launched into a new era. After 44 years of service, the double chairlift from the Engstlenalp to the Jochpass was replaced by an ultramodern 6-seater chairlift from Doppelmayr/Garaventa. With the new D-Line ropeway generation, there are virtually no more wait-ing times as it is now possible to carry up to 2,000 passengers an hour.
Well protected, unobtrusive and quiet
For the new Engstlenalp-Jochpass lift, the existing alignment of the predecessor lift was moved slightly as part of an optimization of skier fl ows on the Jochpass. The new position of the bottom station also means that the 6-seater chairlift readily blends in with the landscape. It features the classic D-Line design. The build-ing complex at the top station was designed by a local architect. The operating company opted for the Doppelmayr Sector Drive. With just one gear stage, noise emissions from the ropeway are reduced to a minimum.

Comfort all year round
In terms of equipment and design, the new chairlift caters for every need. It is fitted with bubbles and seat heating and brings guests in comfort and in significantly less time – just four minutes – back to the slopes during the cold months of the year. The elegant seats are embroidered with the gold logo of TITLIS Bergbahnen. The first D-Line in the Engelberg-Titlis region is also optimally equipped for summer operation. The bike clips developed by Doppelmayr/Garaventa make it quite simple for passengers to take their mountain bikes with them.
