Nestling between the Wetterstein Mountains and the Mieming Mountains, the Ehrwalder Alm is a small resort between 1,100 and 1,923 metres above sea level ideal for beginners. Ehrwald is part of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, which includes other resorts like Lermoos, Biberwier, and the Zugspitze Glacier area.

Ehrwald skiing
The main ski areas in Ehrwald are: the Ehrwalder Wettersteinbahnen and Ehrwalder Alm resorts. Both ski areas are great for families, beginners, and couples looking for a relaxed ski break. The resort primarily offers cruisy blue runs, along with a few red and black runs.
Ehrwald can also impress with its lift system: apart from the 8-person gondola which easily takes you up to Ehrwalder Alm, the ski area has 3 highly modern 6-person chairlifts with weather covers and seat heating.
Families, beginners and those returning to the sport will appreciate the wide, gentle slopes. There is also a dedicated beginners' practice area with conveyor belt lifts and ski carousels for children. The team of childcare experts in the Tirolerhaus will be happy to look after babies and toddlers, giving parents the chance to get out and explore the resort on their own.
The neighboring ski area Wettersteinbahnen is located on the western flank of the Zugspitze mountain. The Wetterstein mountains feature 23 km of the pistes, catering to all levels of difficulty, providing two chair lifts and tow lifts. At altitudes of up to 1,520 meters above sea level, the resort offers a selection of runs that accommodate all abilities, as well as several off-piste ski routes. Additionally, the ski area is particularly child-friendly, thanks to its practice slope and "Kinderland," which is ideal for learning.
Snowboarders and freestylers of all abilities gather in the Betterpark to spin, flip and grind their way over the many different obstacles and features, before hopping on the Klämmli-Lift and riding back up to the top. Those in search of an adrenaline kick should try the "Panorama-Piste" leading down from the Issentalkopf. The resort is home to several huts and restaurants with large sun terraces – the ideal place to enjoy delicious local food in breathtaking alpine surroundings.
Ehrwald village
Après-ski in Ehrwald is rather quiet and usually found in one of the quaint, welcoming huts. A popular spot is the Schirmbar, which is located directly in the centre of Ehrwald and provides cheery fun. But immediately in the Valley Station you can also happily round off a days’ skiing in, for example, the Ganghoferhütte, where live music is played on certain days.
