Galtür is a village and ski resort in the upper Paznaun valley in Austrian state of Tyrol located in the Central Eastern Alps 35 km southwest of Landeck near the border of Vorarlberg and Switzerland.

Surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Silvretta Mountains, many of which are over 3,000m high, the Silvapark Galtür is a snowsure resort deep in the Paznauntal Valley.Though it may be smaller than the neighbouring Silvretta Arena, it still has plenty to offer both families and freestylers. Some of the slopes cross over into the neighbouring province of Vorarlberg.
Six different sectors offer skiing pleasures for the whole family. The highest-located ski area in the Paznaun-Ischgl ski area offers reliable snow conditions from early December to mid-April.
Sector 01: Midget World – Kids only! For the smallest ones and young beginners. The mascot SIGGI will accompany your children during their first steps in the snow. The colourful, child-friendly setting and certified children's ski instructors ensure they will learn skiing playfully.
Sector 02: Adventureland: Your children are already advanced skiers. In the enchanted forest, trails from easy to difficult offer scary stories and also lead right to the witch's lair. On the nature trail Hunters' Trail, your kids will learn about the plants and animals of the region.
Sector 03: Actionpark – Airtime & Speed: For youth and sports-loving adults. On the mogul slope and the speedway speed measurement run, your winter sports skills will be tested. In the BetterPark, freestylers will find their new domicile, Snowboard & Ski welcome. Facilities/Extras: mogul slope, racecourse, Snowpark with rails, Mini Wall, Straight Box, Curved Box, Rainbow Box, Double Box, Nature-Halfpipe; Tips and tricks from the parkguides for better action in the BetterPark, Contests.
Sector 04: Reserved for very good skiers and snowboarders. After a training session for the action off the slopes in the mountains, the challenging terrain and jumps across rocks and cliffs await. Freeriding in deep snow terrain with extensive safety measures.
Sector 05: Piste Paradise: For piste skiers, carvers and alpine boarders. The excellent slopes in the ski area Galtür are waiting to be discovered. Fast lifts and cable cars will get you to the slopes with varying degrees of difficulty. A rest area with deckchairs provides captivating views.
Sector 06: High & Nordic: For cross-country skiers, ski tourers and snowshoe hikers. Numerous cross-country ski tracks will take you into the valleys of the region surrounding Galtür, ski touring into impressive mountains. On ski touring trails and snowshoe hiking trails, you'll get to experience wonderful winter holidays away from the slopes.
Galtür village
Galtür is a charming peaceful traditional village at the head of the valley near Ischgl. Sunnier, cheaper and much quieter than it's larger neighbour. The village consists mostly of large Austrian-style chalet buildings. Many of these offer bed and breakfast or self-catering accommodations, as well as hotel accommodations on a half board or full board basis.
In the centre of the village there is a bakery, a few ski rental shops, a church, and a butcher shop. The Pyramide night club is renowned for its amiable DJ's who will play anything requested of them. There is also a supermarket located 0.5 km outside the village square in the direction of Ischgl, opposite the Hotel Alpenrose. This can be reached easily by bus. There is also a sports centre in the village which has an indoor swimming pool, indoor tennis court, and offers opportunities to play other sports such as darts, pool (billiards), and squash.
