Lötschental lies embedded in an imposing mountain landscape between the Valaisian and Bernese Alps. The Lauchernalp ski resort sits at an altitude of 1,968 meters and extends up to 3,111 meters, offering stunning views of the Bietschhorn.
Lauchernalp ski resort
A modern glacier cableway leads from Lauchernalp up to the ski region of Märwig/Gandegg, continuing to the Hockengrat at 3111 metres altitude, a glacier ski region with mainly moderately difficult pistes and a freeride arena.
There are currently three easy and beautiful pistes in the Lauchernalp ski area. These are located in the lower part of the ski area and in the upper part of the ski area at the glacier lift and the Bügellift. Access to the upper part of the ski area is via the 3-seater chairlift. If you don't feel up to the descent, you can take the 3-seater chairlift from the upper part of the ski area to the lower part at any time.
For advanced skiers, there are currently five red slopes in the ski area, which extend over the entire ski area. The slopes are already a little steeper and some of them are more challenging to ski due to waves and hollows. There is a red slope between the upper and lower part of the ski area, which you can tackle as a downhill run.
For experts, there are currently four ski slopes in the ski area. These are located in the middle and upper part of the ski area and are characterized in particular by their steep incline. If you are venturing onto a black piste for the first time, we recommend the "Stägäru" black piste, which leads from the Gandegg to the ski lift.
