Nauders ski area
The resort's pistes stretch all the way up to 2,800 metres above sea level. Located directly on the Main Alpine Ridge, with slopes between 1,400 and 2,800 metres above sea level, the Nauders-Bergkastel resort near the Reschenpass mountain pass is blessed with plenty of snow during the winter months.
Here, there are 120km of ski runs with guaranteed snow, 28 high tech ski lifts and 110km of cross-country ski trails - a paradise for all winter sports lovers. Long, wide slopes at high altitudes (up to 9km long), excellent off piste and some spectacular mogul fields will keep even the most demanding skiers satisfied. Among the most popular is the run from the Gueser Kopf at 2,745 metres above sea level down through the Schafkar in the Nauderer Tschey area of the resort. "Die Schwarze", literally "The Black One", is the toughest piste in the resort and will challenge even expert skiers with its steep gradient and fiendishly tricky moguls. For freeriders, there are five routes in powder snow, three of them are the South West Route, the Down Under and the Border Route.
With plenty of excellent facilities for children, this really is a great choice of ski area for a family ski holiday. Beginners and those returning to the sport will find easy slopes next to the bottom of the cable car, while at the top of the Bergkastel cable car there is the "Nauderix Kinderland" for toddlers and youngsters finding their snow legs. Highlights include an adventure forest, bumps runs, a snow tunnel, a children's restaurant and even a mini snowpark.
The Nauders ski area is part of the Two Country Skiarena ski association. The following ski areas belong to the Two Country Skiarena ski association: Nauders, Belpiano-Malga S. Valentino, Watles, Trafoi, Solda.
