Oberwiesenthal is a resort town in Germany’s Ore Mountains, near the Czech Republic border. The Fichtelberg Suspension Railway ascends to Fichtelberg peak, with ski runs and views of the surrounding valley.
Oberwiesenthal Ski area in Fichtelberg is the biggest centre of winter sports in Saxony. In close vicinity you can find 10 km of slopes of easy, medium and high difficulty with the total length of 15,5km. Skiarea Klínovec is the biggest skiing resort in Krušné Mountains with the transfer capacity of 9 450 persons/hour. It is located only 120km to the northwest of Prague and lies close to the German border and skiing resort Oberwiesenthal. Traditionally it offers excellent snow conditions throughout the season on 12 km of ski slopes of all levels.
