Pila is an alpine ski-resort in the Aosta Valley region of northern Italy. Pila is linked by a high speed gondola to the regional capital of Aosta, a busy and vibrant town with historic streets crammed with cafès, bars, restaurants and boutiques.
Pila ski resort
Pila overlooks the city of Aosta, with which it is linked by an 18-km-long scenic road that is always open and by a brand-new eight-person gondola lift that will take you to the runs in just 17 minutes. A fully “skis-on” resort, Pila offers direct access to the lifts from all the hotels and tourist apartments.
A 'ski on feet' resort, Pila gives direct access to the pistes from all its hotels and residences. I 70km of piste (80% of which are covered by snow cannons), wind between 1800m up to 2750m at Couis, where you can enjoy a breathtaking 360° of Mont Blanc, the Grand Combin, the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa. 15 lifts with an hourly capacity of 20.000 persons supply a variety of pistes suitable for all, from beginners to experts.
Pila skiing
Among the most spectacular alpine skiing tracks we remember the Couis 1, the Leissè and the splendid Pista del Bosco, while the walls of the Chamolè are truly breathtaking.
The most interesting, recently renovated slopes are:
Gorraz: promoted, thanks to the works carried out during the last season, to a competition ground for international slaloms.
Bellevue: is especially appreciated by the more expert skiers; thanks to the connection with the Du Lac run, it allows a long track for Super G races. A unique and priceless view onto the four thousand metres of the Vallée.
Freeriders have at their disposal a new challenging route that starts from Platta de Grevon, at 2700 m, and goes down to Plan De L'Eyve, at 2200 meters.
Pila is loved by snow boarders, hard and soft, as here they'll find groomed and ungroomed pistes, smooth or with moguls, off piste in the woods where you can zig zag past natural obstacles.
The new Freestyle Area "Areaeffe Snowpark" is able to satisfy even the most demanding riders along (Grimod piste) the 600 metres for performing jumps and tricks on rails. The new "Pila Fun Park" is a “sloping” amusement park where children and adults can have fun together with no age limits.
The resort has 2 Ski & snowboard Schools with more than 180 ski instructors.
