Sedrun ski resort - SkiArena ski area
The Andermatt-Sedrun and Disentis ski resorts are linked by the Sport Train and the Cuolm da Vi gondola. The trip from the Dieni railway station in the Andermatt-Sedrun ski resort to the Sedrun railway station in the Disentis ski resort takes just five minutes.
Sedrun skiing
Andermatt-Sedrun provides beginners with multiple wide and gentle slopes, ideal for those just starting their skiing journey. The resort offers two main nursery slopes, one at Nätschen Matti and another at Sedrun Druni kids area
Located near the Sedrun railway station, the Druni KidsArena is also a popular spot for families skiing in Andermatt. Children can take the conveyor belt to the top before skiing down between colourful figures to practise their turns. Those with more skiing experience can also take the children’s ski lift or one of two tow lifts to the blue pistes right next door.
Once beginners build up confidence, they can progress to the gentle blue runs like Gütsch-Express and in Dieni (Sedrun), the Milez area offers blue slopes, which are generally considered easy and ideal for beginners or those looking for relaxed skiing. Milez is located near the mid-station of the Sedrun ski lifts, and the blue slopes here provide scenic, wide-open runs with a smooth descent, ideal for families or those enjoying a more leisurely day on the mountain.
With a majority of its slopes categorised as intermediate, Andermatt-Sedrun is ideal for skiers of this level. For most intermediates, the highlight will be the top of Cuolm Val where there are a host of long red runs descending towards Milez, Mulinatsch and Dieni, which are just outside Sedrun: or you can turn the other way and take either a red run or an ungroomed ski-route towards Val Val valley. The sunny slopes of Nätschen-Gütsch are perfect for intermediate skiers, with long, sweeping blue and red runs like Gurschen-Gütsch and Gütsch-Lutersee.
The Gemsstock area of Andermatt-Sedrun is a haven for advanced skiers, with challenging black runs and steep off-piste terrain. The black pistes, such as the Gurschen-Gemsstock and Lutersee-Gemsstock, are steep and often moguled, providing an exhilarating challenge.
Sedrun ski resort also offers a snowpark for freestyle enthusiasts. The ACE Snowpark Sedrun, located at the Tegia Gronda lift, features a variety of jumps, boxes, and rails suitable for all skill levels.
The ACE Snowpark is located at altitudes between 2,000 m and 2,300 m. Aerial acrobats will find 2 kicker lines with kickers of different heights in the snow park, which are designed for jumps of 2 to almost 20 metres. On the jib line, which runs parallel to the kicker line, freestylers will find various boxes, rails and obstacles. There is also a quarter in the snow park.
