Spitzingsee ski resort is located in Bavaria, Germany, near the village of Spitzingsee, which sits by the picturesque lake of the same name. The resort is part of the Bavarian Alps and is approximately 70 kilometers south of Munich. The main ski area in Spitzingsee is the ski resort Spitzingsee-Tegernsee.
Spitzingsee-Tegernsee ski area
This larger of the two Spitzingsee ski areas can be accessed from two points on the Spitzingsee side: at the bottom of the Kurven draglift or at the main base station at the bottom of the Stümpfling chairlift.
Spitzingsee ski area: Offers slopes for all skill levels with a ski area elevation of 1.100 to 1.600 meters. There are around 20 kilometers of pistes, including red and black runs for intermediate and advanced skiers.
Tegernsee ski area: Slightly smaller than Spitzingsee, it is more suited to beginners and families. The slopes around Tegernsee provide a more relaxed skiing experience with gentler runs.
As the name suggests, this popular winter sports paradise around the Stümpfling and Roßkopf mountains connects the two picturesque valleys. From Spitzingsee, the Kurvenlift or the Stümpfling 4-seater chairlift quickly and comfortably brings skiers and snowboarders into the area. From Rottach-Egern, a toll road leads to the valley station of the Sutten 4-seater chairlift, providing access to the winter sports fun. If the parking lot at the Suttenbahn is full, you can use the parking lot at the Enterrottach toll station and take the free ski bus to the valley station of the Suttenbahn.
The terrain around the Stümpfling is ideal for beginners, intermediates, and families. Experienced skiers can take the double chairlift to the Roßkopf and start the short but challenging Roßkopf descent or the long black Grünsee run. The wide, groomed ski meadows at the Osthang and Nordhang lifts offer enjoyable skiing experiences.
Snowboarders and freeskiers, meanwhile, will find the more challenging conditions they're looking for at Snowpark Spitzingsee. Small kickers, boxes, and a wave track offer fun for the young and the young-at-heart, whether on one or two boards. The new Funslope replaces the previous snow park and is also suitable for less experienced freestylers. It is open every weekend.
The lift pass "Alpen Plus" gives you access to 4 ski areas: Spitzingsee-Tegernsee, Brauneck-Wegscheid, Wallberg and Sudelfeld. This means all in all 89 km of skiing fun, connected by 43 lifts.
Spitzingsee village
The village is small but pretty as it is located right on the edge of the lake.
