Skiers and snowboarders in Westendorf have direct access to an excellent resort stretching between the Choralpe and Brechhorn. Long considered an insider tip, the resort is now part of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental, one of the largest ski networks in Austria.
Westendorf ski resort
The largest snowpark, the Boarders' Playground next to the Gampenkogellift, makes Westendorf a Mecca for snowboarders and freestyle skiers. The resort often hosts top events such as the fun Jump & Freeze competition. Further down in the valley there is a new Mini Playground with an Easy Line for beginners and kids. The resort also has an extensive area near the bottom of the cable cars with gentle slopes ideal for beginners.
Those who like to collect as many kilometres as possible throughout the day will find that Westendorf is the perfect place to do so. Via the Gampenkogelbahn cable car and the Ki-West-Abfahrt run they can even ski down into Kitzbühel. A real challenge for experts only is piste 112 on the western slopes of the Choralpe. With a gradient of 80% it is the steepest piste in the SkiWelt.
Beginners and cruisers will enjoy the easy run down from the mid-way station of the Alpenrosenbahn cable car. The Laubkogellift also gives access to a number of gentle pistes with great views at over 1700 metres above sea level and a special skimove run where you can record yourself on the slopes. Last but by no means least, Westendorf is known for its lively après-ski scene.
