After the building permit for the “Dorfbahn NEW” project was issued, the ground-breaking ceremony was held on the 24th of April 2017 with the CEOs of the Komperdell cable car company and mayor Mag. Paul Greiter.
The new metro is not only a valuable and sustainable investment for the future for Serfaus but also for the whole destination Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis.
Not least due to the fact that the existence of the Dorfbahn showed in the last 30 years how important this facility is for Serfaus and the holiday destination Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis.
Construction phase I:

As from next winter season 2017/18 the Dorfbahn will shine in new splendour and operate for our guests.

NEW “Dorfbahn” underground railway
Construction phase II:
• Station “Kirche” (Church): The renovations at the bottom access tunnel with the historical panels about the village of Serfaus were completed on time for the summer season.
• Station “Zentrum” (Centre): By the coming winter season, a new, modern, well-lit, and barrier-free rail station will be finished. Panels about the clubs and associations in Serfaus will provide information in an interesting, child-friendly and interactive way.
• Electrical engineering: The exchange has been completed and the improvements are already evident. Now, the railway slides much smoother into the station, and the entry to the single stations is faster.
