Trysil, with its modern international twist on everything from ski lifts and slopes to lodging and amenities, is continuing to develop the Skihytta ski area. For the 2018/19 season a new children's ski lift is being built, along with two new children's slopes with fun Valle features and new snow-making facilities on slope 5.
The new children's area will link up with the S6 Oletrekket lift and slope 16, while the new children's lift will go from the car par up to the Skihytta restaurant.
More new developments in Trysil
- The SkiStar Fun Ride on slope 74 is being extended, with new elements being added to provide even more fun for the whole family
- The ski school in Trysil, Trysilguidene, is moving into new premises at Turistsenteret.

On 1st July 2023 the Matterhorn Glacier Ride II will enter service
A long-cherished vision becomes reality: a connection between Zermatt and the Italian resort of Cervinia, unbroken and operational throughout the year, thanks to the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing. As of 1 July 2023, the Matterhorn Glacier Ride II will be the final piece of the puzzle, as the highest continuous Alpine crossing by cable car is completed.

Garaventa builds one of Switzerland’s biggest chairlifts in Villars resort
The fourth 8-seater chairlift in Switzerland went into service at the beginning of December 2022 in the Villars-Gryon-Diablerets ski area. The new ropeway means a significant increase in capacity for the trip from Villars to Les Diablerets.
